The Smart Hub 2 is the heart of the Aloe Care Smart System, a communication and care management ecosystem designed to support older adults and their caregivers.
The Smart Hub 2 monitors connected devices, delivers health alerts, facilitates caregiver check-ins, and helps streamline emergency dispatches so the entire care circle can stay informed and connected.
Motion Detection
The Smart Hub 2 includes two motion sensors on the front of the device. For the best motion detection, position the Smart Hub 2 so these sensors face into the room and keep the area around the front and sides clear of objects that could block detection.
When adding additional Aloe Care Motion Sensors, pair the Motion Sensors near the Smart Hub 2 first. Once pairing is complete, move the Motion Sensors to their intended locations in the home.
Care Button Range
The Care Button works as an extension of the Smart Hub 2. In an open area, it can send a signal from up to 300 feet away. Walls, doors, and other sources of interference can reduce that range.
To test the range, press the Care Button near the Smart Hub 2 and listen for the voice assistant to respond. Move to different rooms and areas of the home and repeat the test. If the Smart Hub 2 does not respond, the Care Button is out of range.
Powering the Smart Hub 2 On
The Smart Hub 2 automatically powers on when plugged into an electrical outlet. During startup, the ring light may briefly turn yellow while the Smart Hub 2 checks for software updates. The ring light will turn white when it is ready for use.
Testing Your Smart Hub 2
We recommend testing assistance using both voice activation and the Assistance button. Once connected to the Response Team, let them know you are testing your system and do not require medical assistance.
“Hi, this is [your name]. I was testing my Smart System. I do not need medical assistance.”
After confirming your name and the older adult’s address, the Response Team expert will end the call.
