Product Information
Install Help
Monitors in-home motion utilizing infrared sensor technology and notifies caregivers in the Family App. Avoid placing this sensor in the same room as your other Aloe Care smart devices.
Motion Detection
Your motion sensor detects movement based on changes to temperature and surface characteristics of the objects in front of it. When it detects a person passing in front of a surface such as a wall, the temperature in the sensor’s field of vision will rise from room temperature to body temperature and back to room temperature again. This is how movement is detected.
Please note: objects of similar temperature, but different surface characteristics may also trigger the motion sensor. Triggers include, but are not limited to, dust, AC units, heaters, or motion detected through windows. We recommend not placing the motion sensors by AC units, heaters, or near windows.
Placement
Place the Motion Sensor in a location with a clear view of the monitored area.
Avoid placing the Motion Sensor close to a heating/cooling source.
Avoid placing the Motion Sensor in bright or direct sunlight.
Place the sensor free of curtains and other obstacles.
The Motion Sensor must be accessible for battery testing and maintenance.
Mounting
The Motion Sensors no longer come with the corner mounts listed in the manual.
There is a mounting option included with your Motion Sensor. We highly encourage using the provided stand. Insert the stand in the small opening on the underside of the sensor. Place the standing sensor on a flat surface, such as a countertop, table, or shelf.
Resetting
Resetting your Motion Sensor may be needed in order to eliminate abnormal behavior, such as trouble with setup.
