Smart Hub: Think of the Smart Hub as the central node of the Aloe Care System. The Smart Hub should be placed in the room where the older adult spends most of their time. This is often the kitchen, living room or the primary TV room.
The Smart Hub should rest on a flat surface such as a counter, coffee table or end table. It should be as close to mid-way along the wall within 4-5 feet of the outlet (the Aloe Care power cord is 6 feet long). Note: the outlet used should NOT be controlled by a light switch.
The other end of the cord is plugged into the port in the the back of the Smart Hub and should face the wall. This ensures that the two motion sensors (which look like headlights) at the front of the Smart Hub have a broad view for coverage of the room, and that the speaker and microphone are facing the room for optimal sound.

Motion Sensors: The motion sensors are the smaller square devices with the motion sensor at the center. These battery-operated (2 AA batteries) sensors have a lifespan of 18 to 24 months. We recommend you use the small stand found in the tray, within each motion sensor box. Below the rounded wall mount, you can find the motion sensor stand, which is simple to slip into the slit at the bottom of the sensor and offers ease of placement. We recommend placing the motion sensors in high-traffic areas of the home (outside of the room the Smart Hub is located) -- for example, a hallway, kitchen or bedroom.
Fall Sensor: The Fall Sensor is specifically designed for bathrooms to detect falls in the most precarious room in the home. Use the double-sided stickers to mount the Smart Fall Sensor 5 feet off of the ground in the bathroom. The double-sided tape is sturdy and sufficient for mounting on a smooth, dry wall in the desired location in your bathroom. Be sure to plug-in the fall sensor into an outlet that is not connected to a light switch.
Lastly: We know everyone’s home layout is slightly different. If possible, place the fall sensor 10-15 feet or more away from the Smart Hub to get maximum utility and audio / voice coverage in the home.
